Jackson Mobilphone Co. Inc. Help Document for E-mail Paging 193 Airways Boulevard Document version 1.5 Jackson, TN 38301 Document Date 2010-04-18 (731)427-3393 Created by ERA Computers & Consulting pagehelp@jacksonmobilphone.com sales@eracc.com Help with e-Paging To send an e-mail to pager message use the following steps: 1. Open your e-mail program 2. Create a new message: To: 7312820000@net2jmp.com or: To: 2820000@net2jmp.com Standard telephone punctuation is not necessary as any characters other than 0 through 9 are ignored. However, the number *must* be at least seven digits to be accepted. 3. Include a "Subject:" in the message which will become part of the e-page. For example: Subject: 01-01-2004: or: Subject: From the president - 4. In the body of your message, where you normally would type an e-mail to someone, type the message you want to send as a page. Your message may be as simple as your phone number or may be a paragraph up to 200 characters. Don't forget the Subject line is included. For example: Call me at 999-999-9999 a.s.a.p. or: This is from Buzz Lightyear, call me! or: Honey phone home immediately if you value this bowling trophy I'm holding. Here is a sample of what a message may look like when received and parsed by our software: -------------------------SAMPLE MESSAGE BELOW--------------------------- Return-Path: Delivered-To: 2820000@net2jmp.com Received: from different.serveryup.net ([123.456.789.02]) (envelope-sender ) by net2jmp.com with SMTP for <2820000@net2jmp.com>; 1 Jan 2010 08:15:00 -0000 Received: from anemail.serversomewhere.net ([123.456.789.01]) by different.serveryup.net (Post.Office MTA v3.5.1 release 219 ID# 0-65146U1400L200S0V35) with ESMTP id net for <2820000@net2jmp.com>; Fri, 1 Jan 2010 08:00:00 -0000 Received: (from you@localhost) by anemail.serversomewhere.net (8.8.5/SCO5) id JAA19868 for 2820000@net2jmp.com; Fri, 1 Jan 2010 08:00:00 -0000 Message-Id: <201001010800.JAA19868@somewhere.you.com> From: youremail@somewhere.you.com X-Mailer: Some bogus non-standard microsoft mailer no doubt To: 2820000@net2jmp.com Subject: Call me - Date: Fri, 1 Jan 2010 8:00:00 This is the section that will be sent as a page to the person I am trying to reach. As long as there are no blank lines the e-paging software will read the message up to 200 characters. Other stuff here will not be picked up due to the blank lines. -------------------------SAMPLE MESSAGE ABOVE--------------------------- As you can see the message you want the pager to get must be contiguous. The first blank line following the message will end the message and process the lines you want to send. Any blank lines preceding the message body will be ignored by the software. However, there should be at least one blank line following the message header and the body of your message. This should be supplied by your e-mail software unless you are manipulating sendmail or another e-mail transport package by hand. Automation and Our e-Pager System Automated systems must include the pager address in the "To:" line of an e-mail for processing by the pager script. Sending Bcc messages will not work as these will be treated as "bad" messages. This is to help cut down on SPAM being sent to pagers. Alternativley the seven digit pager number may be included in the subject line from an automated system. Using the pager number in the "Subject:" line is deprecated and may not work with future versions of the e-Pager system. If you send an e-mail page and have a problem that cannot be accounted for (you don't receive an error message) please report the problem to the developer by e-mail at: To: eracc@jacksonmobilphone.com -or- To: isupport@eracc.com Subject: JMC E-mail Paging System Include the date and time you sent your e-page and a copy of your original e-mail to pager message when reporting errors. All constructive comments and suggestions will be considered. Sincerely, The Management Jackson Mobilphone Co. Inc.
